How the TRICARE equipment process works

From the doctor's visit to delivery, one step at a time.

Getting equipment through TRICARE follows a clear order. Knowing the steps ahead of time makes each call shorter.

Steps

  1. Talk with the provider. The doctor or care team decides what equipment is right and whether it is medically needed.
  2. Get the prescription. Many kinds of equipment need a written prescription from a TRICARE-authorized provider for coverage.
  3. Contact GDG intake. Call 910-527-7081 or send a request online. We gather logistics only: what is needed, where it is going, and the best time to call.
  4. Coverage check. Intake works through the TRICARE requirements with you and confirms we serve your state. Some items need prior authorization first.
  5. Schedule delivery. We set a delivery and any fitting or setup around your household's schedule.
  6. Delivery and setup. The equipment arrives and is set up in the room where it helps. You will know who to call afterward.

TRICARE is the coverage we work with today. Coverage and any cost-share depend on your plan, and intake confirms the details with you. If you have another plan or want to pay directly, call intake to talk through options.
